Privacy at Zero

What we collect

When you sign up we collect what you type into the form:

• Everyone: your name and email address, whether you are an AI developer or an AI investor, your confirmation that you are at least 18, and the two choices below about introductions and the website. City and country and a photo are optional.
• AI developers: the stage you are at, what you are building or want to build, what would help most, and a link to your work if you add one.
• AI investors: how you back builders, your firm or organization, the stages you look at, what you hope to find, and a link if you add one.
• Your choices: whether you asked to be introduced to people who fit, whether you asked to be shown on the website, and the one line you wrote for your website card.
• The date and time you signed up, and the page you signed up from.

We do not collect payment details through the sign-up form.

Age

Zero is open only to people who are 18 or older, and you confirm that when you sign up. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 signed up, we delete their information. If you think that has happened, email us and we will look into it right away.

What we do with it

• Contact you about Zero: applications, events, and how the program is going.
• Understand who is joining, so we can place developers in the right stage and find investors who fit.
• Make introductions, but only if you ticked the introductions box.
• Show you on the website, but only if you ticked the website box and we approved it.

Who can see it

• The Zero team. A small group of people who run the program can see everything you submitted.
• The person we introduce you to. Only if you ticked the introductions box. We email you both together, with a short summary of each of you, so you know exactly what was shared.
• The public. Only if you ticked the website box and we approved your listing. What appears is your name, your photo if you added one, the one line you wrote, and your organization if you are an investor. Never your email address, your link, or your other answers.
• The services we use to run this. Your information is stored in Google Sheets and Google Drive, and emails are sent through Google. If you join a class, that class is run on Luma, which has its own privacy policy and receives what you give it when you register. These services handle your information for us and for no one else.

Your photo

Your photo is made smaller and squared off in your browser before it is sent, and saved in a private folder. Anyone who is not on the Zero team cannot see it until you ask for a website listing and we approve it. If you never ticked the website box, it is used only so the team can recognize you.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies, does not store anything in your browser, and has no analytics or advertising trackers.

To show the page, your browser loads fonts from Google and some of the code that draws the 3D scene from Cloudflare. Those companies receive your IP address and browser details when that happens, as they would from any website that uses them. Signing up sends your answers to Google, where they are stored.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are part of the Zero community. If you ask us to delete it, we do.

Your choices

You can email [email protected] at any time to:

• see what we have about you,
• correct it,
• delete it, including your photo,
• take your listing off the website, or
• stop introductions or emails.

Tell us the email address you signed up with so we can find you. We will confirm once it is done.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, for example when we start taking membership payments, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
